I am an applied economist in Mannheim, Germany, holding joint appointments at the University of Mannheim, Department of Economics and the ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research. I am also a member of the board of the Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI), a member of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center Transregio 224 - EPoS, and a member of the steering group of the Competition Law and Economics European Network (CLEEN).
My research interests lie in industrial organization with applications in innovation economics, corporate finance, law and economics (contract law, antitrust, intellectual property), and public economics. I have published in the RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Journal of Law and Economics, and the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, among others.

Aug 23, 2022 Submit your paper to the Disclosure, Information Sharing, and Secrecy (DISS) Workshop here. If you have problems with the Google form, send me your submission in an email. Deadline is November 30, 2022. We are looking for theoretical and empirical contributions studying the disclosure (or non-disclosure) of information. Ed deHaan (Foster School of Business at the University of Washington, Seattle) and Deepak Hegde (Stern School of Business and New York University) have agreed to deliver keynotes lectures.
July 25, 2022 Tim Martens (Bocconi University) and I are organizing a two-day workshop on Disclosure, Information Sharing, and Secrecy (DISS) on February 27 and 28, 2023. A call for papers is going out soon. Deadline for submissions will be end of 2022. Stay tuned!

June 26, 2022 I am organizing the 2023 conference of Competition Law and Economics European Network (CLEEN) in Mannheim. We'll open the conference to Ph.D. students and post-docs from non-member institutions. Stay tuned for date (Spring 2023) and a call for papers.
Mar 31, 2022 Our patent claim data (joint project with W. Keith Robinson and Michael Seeligson) is finally online and available on Zenodo. The current release is 3.3.0. We are planning a minor update with some additional variables and bug fixes later this spring/early summer. Stay tuned! Oct 17, 2021 Happy and honored to see one of my projects among eight funded by the Women & Science Chair at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL. Alessandra Allocca (LMU Munich), Nicola Persico (Northwestern), Tim Simcoe (Boston University), Emanuele Tarantino (LUISS Rome) and I will be studying gender role models in technology standardization.
